Just what in the world is PLiNTH & CHiNTZ?
It’s a newsletter… it’s a website… it’s a fun new concept in design
education and transition into the interior design world. And it’s
only the hippest, coolest way to get the ins & outs of the real
interior design industry – not just the fantasy world everyone
currently sees on TV. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live
out your “Trading Spaces” fantasy and become a decorator – there
can be a lot of money in that if you’re good and you get the right
clients. But did you know that if you go to design school and work
hard you can… CLICK PHOTO

Honoring History and Contemporary Black Americans

Why This Site?
African-Americans are leaders, revolutionaries, and achievers today.  Our achievements are not solely of the past.  Our success did not die with
Dr. King Jr., Mr. Dubois, and Ms. Tubman to name a few.  African-Americans have contributed to enlightening and improving not only the United
States but the world. Sadly many African-Americans, children and adults alike, are unaware of our successes of the past and even more, the
present. We must be careful of letting others define not only our success but our history, values, character and legacies. Tradition of Excellence’s
mission is to highlight the distinction and many achievements of African-Americans.
MISSION of PRC
The mission of the Preservation Resource Center: To promote the preservation, restoration, and revitalization of New Orleans’ historic
architecture and neighborhoods.

We at the PRC believe that preserving a city’s architecture is tantamount to preserving its soul. New Orleans would not be the city we love today
without the past successes of the PRC, and it is critical that we maintain our staunch defense of the city’s rich architectural legacy. In post-Katrina
New Orleans, it is particularly crucial that we rebuild in a way that is sensitive to our past, or we risk losing everything that makes our city unique.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
A lot of things have changed since the storms, but one thing remains the same: Rebuilding Together is still a leader in community redevelopment
and an advocate for New Orleans’ low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.

Rebuilding Together New Orleans is a local affiliate of a national nonprofit organization – Rebuilding Together – which has restored and revitalized
more than 100,000 homes over the past 19 years. With all work done at no cost to the homeowner and utilizing predominantly volunteer labor,
Rebuilding Together allows low-income families in communities across the country to live in warmth, safety, and dignity.
