BIDS INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OF THE MONTH

I don't care how much power,
brilliance, or energy you have,
if you don't harness it
and focus it on a specific target,
and hold it there,
you're never going to accomplish
as much as your ability warrants.

I chose to make the connection with Public
Sector building environments like schools,
community/diversity centers and shelters.

I love the summertime, good food, and taking
the train. My new hobby is digital photography of
sorts. I have also been searching for old
photographs of Black Chicagoans back in the
day and researching Black Architects for
inspiration/motivation.

Education:  B.S. Urban Planning and
Economics, Florida State University.  Pursuing:
B.F.A. Interior Design, Harrington College of
Design.  Future: M.F.A Interior Design,
Harrington College of Design.

I am originally from Detroit, MI and currently
residing in Chicago, IL. I attend the International
Academy of Design and Technology, majoring in
Interior Design.  My plan is to focus on
Commercial design. Specifically areas such as
Hospitality and restaurant design and also retail
and store planning design.

Furniture design is something that greatly
interests me as well, and I plan on pursuing this
in the near future. I would like to learn more
about the real estate business and how to
employ my interior design knowledge in this
field.  I enjoy most things interior design related,
and on a more personal note, spending time
with close friends and family.   Education:

I love color and how it can change the
entire atmosphere of a room.  Choosing a
color scheme is the best part of design
for me.  I've read many articles on color
psychology and its affect on your mood
and even behavior. As far as my long
term goals, I see a bright future ahead of
me.  I am not worried about the poor
economy and its negative effect on
designers today.  I know that God has a
plan for me as well as I do for myself and
I am working hard to meet my goal of one
day owning my own business and
starting my own furniture line.  I want to
be the best designer I can be and I know
I can do it no matter the hardships.
